Kelly's Heroes

I watched Kelly'e Heroes again today. I really like that movie, it's just winderfully funny and serious at the same time. A feelgood movie. If I can talk my mom into it I'll bring it to Smith next fall, as far too many people have no clue what I am talking about when I mention it. So yeah, I need to educate these people... Black Adder, 'Allo 'Allo, and now Kelly's Heroes. I also have a feeling that Sibs might find some of the characters in it worthy of our Shadowrun campaign. If we ever run into Oddball I think I might laugh myself to death.

I have also decided that I'll be making some cool boffing weapons. San Jie Gun (three sectional staff) and Er Jie Gun (better know as the Japanese Nunchaku). There are far too few Chinese weapons in the boffing scene, the only Easteren boffing weapon used as far as I know is a Katana, and honestly, do we want more swords (well a Jian or a Dao could be cool)? So yeah, I am going more Eastern style. I still love the mace and the knives are my favorite. But a San Jie Gun? Would be so great. I can mix my aggresive staff fighting with my defensive short range fighting. I am a very aggresive staff fighter. I think it might have to do with having a range of almost 2.5 meters (that's over 8 feet as far as I know), but almost no defense on a short range. I am looking forward to try a staff out against say a long sword, or a mace (I am looking at you, Mel.). I think I might be able to hold two people as long as I have a staff, maybe not more, and not if either of them have staffs themselvs. Defending against a staff is hard, but do-able with a staff, don't think it is very easy to do if you have something else. A mace would of course shatter a staff if it hits it, but again I have speed and range to my advantage. San Jie Gun gives me the range AND the close defense which is very useful. It is known as the hardest weapon to learn though. But if I practise everyday during the summer... Er Jie Gun is mainly for show, as I can really imagine it being of much use unless your opponent is either unarmed, with Er Jie Gun themselvs or knives. Still cool... So I need to go to Kr.Sand to get the stuff I need for that, and also I need dice. I did a small calculation of the dice I am going to need for Shadowrun and I am going to need at least 20 d6 for my character and then I should have some extra for the others as well. So shopping soon it is. Weeeeee.....
