So today, no less than 3 people mentioned this show to me and told me that I need to watch it. Combined with Kelly on Saturday that make four in tree days. Maybe I should take the hint? Anyone got the first season on DVD?
Life is good, classes started, I feel good about Spec Fic, this sounds like it is going to be an interesting class. ODE and Linear Algebra sounds ok, not to die for but not too bad. I talked to Cardell who teaches Electrical Power Systems and it is ok that I take the class. It sounds fairly interesting and with it I got most of the requirements for engineering minor down (I think I might be missing one or something). Discrete Math I am not sure how to feel about. I mean, I need it and I will do it, and maybe I'll find it fun, can't remember to have done anything like it before.
I should have been in fencing now, but thanks me being stupid I have a giant blister on my foot. So I'll let my foot heal until wednesday and take it from there. I did my word count today, this was a good start on the week. 573 words, and I might do some more when I am done with this post. I feel inspired to do some fan fic. Also Sibs and I have a challenge. The funny thing is, the two characters are the characters we were cosplaying as at Vericon (which by the way was full of win as Mel put it), Casper and Komiyan from Darken. Because they are so damned easy to slash it has to be done. Also, the costume gave me an exuse to flirt with anything in a skirt. Ok so Casper is not that desperate, but it was fun to play. And someone recognised us. Weeee. I also got some nice art.
I feel good. Life has been good today, even with minor setbacks. Ah well. And I realized that I have two months to make my panels for ConBust and make all the chainmaille I intend to sell there. Anyone got ideas of stuff that might do well? I am working on a bunch of different bracelets, I might also make some anklets, and Miriam said that Japanese cubes might work as those bag jewelery everyone seems to have these days. Speaking of bags, I am hunting a Hells Belles badge to get on my bag, I got the button but I would like more. I am hunting all sorts of stuff to put on it in fact.

I am still alive
Yeah, I am still alive. Things are going well in my life. I am writing this while I am waiting for the coffee to brew. Yes, I brought freshly ground coffee before I left and even if that is almost two weeks ago it is still way better than most of what you get in stores. When my parents come I think I'll ask them to bring loads of coffee. It seems a bit redundant to get coffee from the old world when I am over here, but back home I know where to get the coffee I like and they also burn the beans the way Norwegians like them.
This last week and a half I have been having a lot of girlfriend time, a lot of friend time in general actually, and it is very nice. I had been thinking about visiting Thomas this weekend but there seems like there was no easy way of getting up to him. Friend time have been very nice, we've been watching b-movie biology, a movie and a discussion every night this week. Yesterday we say GATTCA, I still like that movie a lot, even if it is full of odd little things that don't really fit. We've been watching Dr.Who, having knitting circles and so on and so forth. Really nice.
In the podcast alley, I been listening to Morevi Remastered by Tee Morris. I actually really like it. It is so far quite interesting. I have also listened quite a lot to Dragon's Landing. But I have catching up to do with Escape Pod for one.
In the big news area, I am changing major. I have decided that rather be a computer science major, engineering minor than the other way around. This means that I'll have a somewhat easier time with fullfilling the requirements and I can focus on what I want to do rather than what I have to do. I can take more classes that focus on robotics and AI than I could other wise.
I also have joined the fencing team, as an epee fencer. I still have a lot to learn before I am any good. But I am sure I'll get there. But that means loads of practice. Also there is Hapkido. I took Sibs (I should really call her Miss Duffey now) class and it was a lot of fun even if I do blue belt flops instead of proper rolling falls. She is planning on starting a club, so I'll do that too. Loads of exercise. Which is good for me I guess.
Anyway Coffee is done and I should get back to coloring the comic

Bad Weekend
So.. I don't like this weeks programming homework. I went to work on it, but the TA didn't show up, so I didn't get very far, since this was one of those hard ones where I would need help. And that just makes me feel unproductive. On the other hand I did start the Engineering homework and it does only have five questions this week, a bit different form last week where we had 16. And you know that homework I said I wanted to get more than 50% on? 58/90, that is 65%. Combined with a quiz of 11/10, I think we can say I am really doing better.
On the other hand I have done art. I have been in an real arty mood. Two character portraits and a comic page colored. And uploaded to dA.
Yesterday was D&D day. I went to Modern Myths with Sibs, and we gamed. The GM was hilarious, the game fun (classic dungeon crawl, little story, tons to kill), and we got loot. Three minis, two d20s. And yeah it was well worth it, will do that again next year.
I also talked to my advisor. I am looking at ENG 208 Spec Fic, EGR 260 Mass and Energy Balances, EGR 320 Signals and Systems and MTH 204 Numerical Methods for Engineers. Only the math class has a lab and that is a one hour thingy. So this is looking better already. I am hoping to have time to upgrade to Conbust Staff and join Hells Bells. And have Tuesday and Thursday free before lunch..
My advisor also wants me to intern with Google... Or at least interveiw and apply next time they are on campus. Sounds interesting, but I want to do some more research on what it actually entails before I apply.

Comic, Mountain Day and Parry 4
So, this weekend (i.e. Sunday and yesterday, which was Mountain Day) I spent 5.5 hours coloring the first page of the comic Sibs, Claire and I are working on. And I still got about 2 hours to go, not counting how long it will take me to get the text in. Yay for time consuming hobbies. But I want a wacom, more spesifically I want a blue, medium sized Bamboo Fun, if anyone feels like spending two hundred bucks on me... Nah, I think that will be my first spending of the Norwegian Convarsation Partner job. God, I like jobs that pay well.
So Mountain was yesterday, didn't do much, slept in, read a bit of d20 Modern (like it so far), had a outdoor lunch with the Table (which is kinda like the couch, only more people), did some poi, amused Sibs by failing at Hapkido (I think it is spelled), did art, took a math test (and failed) and did more art. Nice and easy.. A lot of people were complaining about the weaher (cloudy), I don't mind, but I would have prefered a sunny day.
In Fencing just now, we learned Parry 4. And that name won't make any sense to anyone who doesn't know fencing, but I failed anyway. I move my tip too much, so I can't repost properly. Damn.. Need to work on that.
