What a Weekend.

So for those of you that don't know, this weekend was Conbust 08. It was great fun. I was on 4 panels, running one game and judging the boffing war and tournament.

Friday.
Friday started with set up and stuff. It was fine enough. I am still amazed that we manage to get everything up in an hour. It is really amazing. Then at six was my game. I thought I would have to cancel because it was so early in the con and no-one woutld be there, nope, I had to turn people down. It was great fun to run, I thing the players had fun, and we ran the full two hours. Thank god I stated out those guards. I had not expected them to attack the guards. I think I'll do something about that for the campaign. Oh yeah this is turning into a campaign. Then I ran the character building workshop where George dominated, as usual. After that was the zombie panel. I had freaked out about this, but it went smashing. It seemed like people loved it. Thanks to everyone who helped make it as awesome as it was, especially Kayleigh. Then I did the ID check for the BDSM panel. It was interesting.

Saturday:
Started with over sleeping and then tax workshop, was not so fun but ok. Then I went to the con got into makeup. During the day I sat at the table, judged the boffing and ran a panel, once again with George. Then I went to Joe's game and had tons of fun. After that I had a head ache so I went home to sleep and do some homework.

Sunday:
Fairly laid back, went to a panel and ran another, apart form that I hung out in the artist dealer room and chilled. Again I was amazed with our gophers, the con was cleaned up in little over an hours.

Torchwood

So today, no less than 3 people mentioned this show to me and told me that I need to watch it. Combined with Kelly on Saturday that make four in tree days. Maybe I should take the hint? Anyone got the first season on DVD?

Life is good, classes started, I feel good about Spec Fic, this sounds like it is going to be an interesting class. ODE and Linear Algebra sounds ok, not to die for but not too bad. I talked to Cardell who teaches Electrical Power Systems and it is ok that I take the class. It sounds fairly interesting and with it I got most of the requirements for engineering minor down (I think I might be missing one or something). Discrete Math I am not sure how to feel about. I mean, I need it and I will do it, and maybe I'll find it fun, can't remember to have done anything like it before.

I should have been in fencing now, but thanks me being stupid I have a giant blister on my foot. So I'll let my foot heal until wednesday and take it from there. I did my word count today, this was a good start on the week. 573 words, and I might do some more when I am done with this post. I feel inspired to do some fan fic. Also Sibs and I have a challenge. The funny thing is, the two characters are the characters we were cosplaying as at Vericon (which by the way was full of win as Mel put it), Casper and Komiyan from Darken. Because they are so damned easy to slash it has to be done. Also, the costume gave me an exuse to flirt with anything in a skirt. Ok so Casper is not that desperate, but it was fun to play. And someone recognised us. Weeee. I also got some nice art.

I feel good. Life has been good today, even with minor setbacks. Ah well. And I realized that I have two months to make my panels for ConBust and make all the chainmaille I intend to sell there. Anyone got ideas of stuff that might do well? I am working on a bunch of different bracelets, I might also make some anklets, and Miriam said that Japanese cubes might work as those bag jewelery everyone seems to have these days. Speaking of bags, I am hunting a Hells Belles badge to get on my bag, I got the button but I would like more. I am hunting all sorts of stuff to put on it in fact.

This weekend was Conbust, and it went fine. I had a lot of fun, even with worrying over the guests and where they where. I was the Guest Liason, so my job was to know where the guests were and if they had everything they needed. But I also had time to do other things, like run a D&D game (one part of the tournament game that Buns made.), make a boffing sword, be in the boffing war, play Shadowrun, and loads of other stuff. I am so tired, I just gave up on doing physics, and I am going to do my chinese tomorrow morning.
I had a weird dream last night, it was set in a big house that looked a bit like several of the older houses on campus moshed together. I saved some kids from a pedofile by making a deal with him that he would let them go and got to do whatever he wanted to me. Then there was this scene where I pissed him off, don't remember how, and he promised that I would pay. And then Chris (guy from Conbust) and Talia was my knights in shining armor by not letting me be alone with him. And there was a ton of other SSFFS people and my brother just being in the background all the time. How does my brain come up with this stuff? It is almost as wacko as the terrorist-dino dream I had last term. I almost think I should have my dreams analysed by people who do that sort of stuff...

Monday Monday

My mondays are interesting days. Today I got up at 7 am, had breakfeast and went back to my room. My first class was not untill 10 am so I clean my room a bit and then went to do some printing. After that I went to chinese where Hu Laoshi acctually was rather nice to me. She was not as scary as she usually is. Then it was physics, where the first thing Prof. Felder did was lay on a bed of nails, then talked about the class, handed out syllabus, you know the drill. Then I had lunch and after lunch, called home, posted my moms birthday present and did homework untill dinner time. After dinner I had Astronomy where we got the syllabus, learned to use a telescope and went out to look at the stars. I just got back from that class half an hour ago (it is now 10.50 PM).
This weekend was great, I went to Vericon at Harvard. I spent a lot of time with Hope, did a fair bit of boffing and learned to make chainmail and chainmail jewerly. Loads and loads of fun.
